Kentucky Attorney General soon leads a national committee working to combat the drug epidemic. Andy Beshear will serve as co-chair of the Substance Abuse Committee of the National Association of Attorneys General.
The committee works with law enforcement, prosecutors and community leaders.
In a news releaes, Beshear says the drug epidemic is the biggest issue facing Kentucky. He says he will fight substance abuse in Kentucky and also 'dry up' out-of-state pill pipelines and work on national strategies.
Beshear co-chairs with Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi. His term begins July 1.
