The reopening of a prominent rest stop in west Kentucky is delayed until late February or early March.
The Beaver Dam rest stop sits midway on the long stretch of the Wendell H. Ford Western Kentucky Parkway. The site was shut down in January 2017.
It was scheduled to re-open as a HUCK’s convenience area Friday.
The Finance and Administration Cabinet says the delay is due to unforeseen construction issues. A new target date for reopening has not been determined.
Illinois-based company Martin and Bayley has a 20-year contract with the state to renovate and operate the site.
