[Audio] Museums of Hopkinsville Holding Edgar Cayce Hometown Seminar This Weekend

Museums of Hopkinsville

Later this week, the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County will hold its 24th annual Edgar Cayce Hometown Seminar. The Friday-Sunday event covers the life of the mystic who grew up in Western Kentucky.

Executive Director Alissa Keller Speaks with Tracy Ross on Sounds Good about one of the region’s most well-known figures.

Keller says Cayce grew up around Hopkinsville, and was born in 1877. He quickly developed a reputation for his purportedly psychic abilities, including a flawless memory.

Cayce ended up in Virginia Beach, where he started a hospital and promoted holistic medicine.

This weekend’s event kicks off Friday, March 18. It coincides with Cayce’s 139th birthday.

The event’s festivities include a birthday celebration, bus tours of area locations Cayce frequented and performances from psychotherapist, hypnotherapist and expert on all things Cayce Peter Woodbury.

For more information or tickets, visit the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County website or give them a call at (270) 887-4270.
