[Audio] Calloway County Public Library Holding Community Read, Easter Egg Hunt This Week

Matt Markgraf / WKMS

As spring begins to bloom, the Calloway County Public Library is planning a slate of community events both indoor and out.

CCPL Community Relations Coordinator Sandy Linn talks with Tracy Ross on Sounds Good about what’s coming up, including this year’s Easter egg hunt.

First off, the library is holding a multi-generational community read event tonight, featuring the Sharon Draper novel “Stella by Starlight.”

Lynn says kids will read the book with a parent, grandparent or another grown-up then enjoy a free dinner and other activities.

Draper herself will be in Murray later this week; the author and teacher is expected to speak at CCPL Thursday.

And tomorrow marks the CCPL’s annual Easter egg hunt. It starts at 10:30, and includes the hunt plus a free lunch.

Tracy started working for WKMS in 1994 while attending Murray State University. After receiving his Bachelors and Masters degrees from MSU he was hired as Operations/Web/Sports Director in 2000. Tracy hosted All Things Considered from 2004-2012 and has served as host/producer of several music shows including Cafe Jazz, and Jazz Horizons. In 2001, Tracy revived Beyond The Edge, a legacy alternative music program that had been on hiatus for several years. Tracy was named Program Director in 2011 and created the midday music and conversation program Sounds Good in 2012 which he hosts Monday-Thursday. Tracy lives in Murray with his wife, son and daughter.
