Hopkinsville, KY – The Hopkinsville Housing Authority will soon put a hold on applications. Director of Operations Vickie Smiley says the waiting lists for Section 8 and public housing are both at capacity with over 450 families on each. Smiley says this isn't the first time they've had to stop accepting applications. She says it happens quite often with Section 8, but this is the first time in two years they've put a hold on public housing applications. Smiley expects the authority will reopen applications in six to eight months.
