Al Roker to Broadcast Live from Discovery Park of America Nov 10th

Discovery Park of America

A nationally-known weatherman will be in northwest Tennessee next month to attempt to set a world record.

NBC’s TODAY Show’s Al Roker will give a live weather report from The Discovery Park of America in Union City Nov 10.

The appearance is part of an attempt to set the record for the fastest time reporting the weather from all 50 states, in what NBC has dubbed "Rokerthon."

Last year's Rokerthon saw Al set the record for longest-ever weather report which spanned 34 hours.

Roker begins the challenge Nov 6 in Honolulu, HI and will end back in New York Nov 13. In between, he appears in Wickliffe, KY and Union City, TN at the Discovery Park Nov 10.

Park Marketing Director Mary Nita Bondurant says she’s excited about the national exposure the broadcast will give the park, which saw its 500,000th visitor this month.

Bondurant asks for the sake of crowd control that hopeful spectators watch the NBC broadcast from home.

Roker will issue his broadcast at the park Tuesday morning, Nov 10th.
