51,000 Kentucky Voters Have Cast Absentee Ballots

More than 51,000 Kentucky voters have cast absentee ballots ahead of the Nov. 6 election. Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes says that's on par with the count two weeks ahead of the 2008 election. In Kentucky, voters who are out of town or otherwise unable to get to the polls on Election Day can vote early by absentee ballots. Besides the presidential race, Kentucky has a competitive congressional race in central Kentucky. Voters are also choosing a Supreme Court justice from eastern Kentucky and state legislators across the state. In some parts of the state, local races also are on the ballot. Grimes, the state's chief elections officer, hasn't yet projected how many of Kentucky's 3 million eligible voters will turn out on Election Day.
