400mile.com

A statewide yard sale stretching across Kentucky’s Historic Highway 68 begins Thursday, June 2.  The annual 400 mile event starts in Paducah and ends in Maysville.

Bowling Green development firm We Make Things Happen has hosted the event for the last 13 years as a part of  The Kentucky Department of Travel and Tourism’s 99 Days of summer.

Debbie Spencer of We Make Things Happen says, "An amazing turnout is expected this year.  Everyone and their brother is having a yard sale in Benton ... People are always finding treasures. You never know what you'll find. People come back each year not just for the yard sale but because people make friends."

Spencer says people from as far away as Florida and California come to the area to shop.

Last year’s yard sale brought in more than $2 million dollars for community initiatives including youth sports programs and helping the homeless. The yard sale ends Sunday, June 5.
