Kala Dunn is a native of Princeton, Ky. She’s a 2006 graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy with a concentration in flute performance and a 2010 graduate of Murray State University with a B.M. in piano performance. She lives in Hamlin, Ky.

Starfish Orphan Ministry presents "Inocente" tonight at 6:30 at the Clemens Fine Arts Center on the campus of West Kentucky Community and Technical College. The film tells the story of a girl striving to find her artistic voice despite having no home, no role models, and no legal status. Admission is free. 

The Humane Society of Calloway County holds the annual Humane Society Yard Sale Saturday from 9 until 2 at the Calloway County Library Meeting Room on Main Street. For more information about the sale or to find out how to donate items, visit the Humane Society website at forthepets.org.

The Sucker Punch Century Ride is Saturday beginning and ending at Gear Up Cycles in Murray. The 100 mile ride is at 8, the 60 mile ride is at 8:15, and the 30 mile ride is at 8:30. The cost is $40 on the day of the race. Proceeds benefit the Murray State University Cycling Team and the Murray Lion's Club Community Skate Park. For details call 270-761-2453.

The “Capture the Earth” photography contest is accepting entries from Kentucky students in grades 6 through 8 through this Friday. Entries are judged on originality, creativity, composition, and a brief explanation of how the photo celebrates the beauty and diversity of Kentucky. The UTM University Trio performs new music at a lunchtime concert tomorrow at 12:15 in Blankenship Recital Hall. Flutist Charles Lewis, clarinetist Elizabeth Aleksander, and pianist Elaine Harris perform two works composed in 2013 by Eric Ewazen and Donald Draganski. The public is invited to the free performance. 

West Kentucky Community and Technical College offers a five-week landscape design class on Thursday evenings from 6-9 tomorrow through April 24. Students learn about design principles and theory and how to apply them to an individual landscape. The cost of the class is $95, which includes a book. Call (270) 534-3335 to register.

Woodlands Nature Station at Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area hosts Girl Scouts Day this Saturday from 10 to 3. Every fourth Wednesday of the month, starting this week, West Kentucky Community and Technical College offers training in standard first aid and adult CPR/AED. Each one-day course meets from 9 to 4 in the Emerging Technology Center, Room 141. The cost is $90. For details, call (270) 534-3206. 

Paducah Improv holds auditions for its new six-month improve training course Sunday evening from 7 to 9 at the Market House Studio Theatre in Paducah.
