KY to Urge Veteran Definition Change

Frankfort, KY – Some Kentuckians who've spent decades in the Army National Guard are not considered veterans by the federal government because they've never been on active duty. That's according to the head of the Kentucky Department of Military Affairs. Adjutant General Edward Tonini wants the Kentucky legislature to urge the U-S Department of Veterans Affairs to change its definition of a veteran, so more Kentuckians are eligible for full veterans' benefits.

Interview with Dr. Antonia Thompson

Murray, KY – Dr. Antonio Thompson is an assistant professor of history at Austin Peay State University. Thompson has spent years researching World War II POW camps in the United States. His first book, German Jackboots on Ketucky Bluegrass: Housing German Prisoners of War in Kentucky, 1942 - 46 highlights a uniquely regional part of US history. Angela Hatton spoke with Thompson about his book.
