Melvin Chen

Murray, KY – Nashville native, graduate of Yale, Harvard and Julliard with degrees in chemistry, physics, piano and violin, Melvin Chen is the guest soloist for Saturday's Concert of the Paducah Symphony Orchestra at the Carson Center. Mr. Chen is on the piano faculty of the Board of College Conservatory of music, where he is associate director. Both his parents are chemists and love classical music. They do not play instruments, so they encouraged Chen to learn to play music for them and he naturally followed their scientific leads.
