Kentucky World War One Vet Dies

Louisville, KY – A Kentucky native who was one of the nation's last remaining World War One veterans died yesterday at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Louisville, four days shy of his 108th birthday. Kentucky Public Radio's Kevin Willis reports.

Missing Woman's Body Found

Smithland, KY – Livingston County authorities found the body of a missing Paducah woman yesterday. Law enforcement officials have ruled the death a suicide. A spokesman for the Livingston County Sheriff's Department says 44-year-old Jan Carr had been missing for a week and a half. The search continued after authorities found her car on the I-24 Bridge over the Tennessee River last Tuesday. Her purse and identification were left inside. An autopsy will be performed today in Madisonville.

Cracker Barrel Arson Investigation

Murray, Ky – A 19-year-old Cadiz man is in jail after allegedly setting fire to his workplace. Justin Cook is charged with setting fire to the Cadiz Cracker Barrel sometime before 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. Investigators found numerous small fires set within the restaurant. Trigg County Tourism Director Bill Stevens says the building sustained moderate damage and will require some repairs. The restaurant is closed until further notice. Cook is charged with second degree arson and is housed in the Christian County Jail.
