Asthma Awareness Helps Kentuckians Catch a Breath

Murray, KY – Mayfield Pediatric Clinic physician Dr. Abid Hussain knows asthma. His own son developed the illness when the family lived in low-quality housing in New York. In his practice Hussain often sees patients with asthma or related problems. He remembers one instance in which a child was suffering from mold-caused asthma.

Alternatives Denied

Frankfort, KY – Senate President David Williams says there are ways to help the horse industry without putting video slots at the horse tracks, and has offered an alternate proposal. But Governor Beshear is refusing to let the alternative be heard.

"Unlike my proposal, President Williams' proposal would not create alternate sources of revenue."

Blogging in Korea

Murray, KY – Last month, 10-year-old Will Sivills and his mother Catherine traveled with Murray State staff and students to Daegu University in South Korea. He had to miss 2 weeks of class at Southwest Calloway Elementary School but he made a deal with his teachers he would keep a blog detailing all his travels for his classmates while he was gone. Carrie Pond speaks with Sivills about food, fish therapy, and finding his way around a new place.
