Inmates Escape in Hardin County

Elizabethtown, IL – The Hardin County, Illinois Sheriff's Department is looking for two inmates who escaped this morning from the county jail. Hardin Sheriff Tom Seiner says Randall Warren and Dwayne Bruce were on recreational time when they fled the facility. Wayne and Bruce were last seen wearing jail uniforms and could be driving a stolen car. Officials have not released any other information.

WKCTC Announces New Training Center

Paducah, KY – West Kentucky Community and Technical College announced plans for a new Skilled Craft Training Center yesterday. The college will build its new center in the Twin Hills Building near Mayfield. The WKCTC foundation, signed a memorandum with the Lay Family Foundation in St. Louis for $1.5 million to help fund the project. Officials plan to offer courses on wielding, ventilation, air conditioning and automotive technology. They will add other programs based on community need.

The Almo woman, who recently started Special Home for Injured Poultry rescue, says chickens are more than just lunch on legs. Carrie Pond has more.

"Sugar" at Maiden Alley Cinema

Paducah, KY – With the 4th of July less than a month away, you may be in the market for a movie about baseball. Playing this week at Paducah's Maiden Alley, is Sugar from directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. A young man from the Dominican Republic travels to Iowa hoping to make it in the big leagues and learns about America, its people, and the national pastime. Students Study Art Through Boomerang-Carving

Murray, KY – Students bend over slender planks of wood in the Murray State woodshop as sawdust falls to the concrete floor. Some are filing, some are sanding and some are painting intricate designs along the sides of their carved plywood. All of them hope their work will fly.

Cosmo Barbaro decided to create a class covering boomerang carving after he researched the art. He says it was perfect for his summer curriculum.
