Frankfort, KY – The Kentucky Association of School Superintendents is expressing concern that a Kentuckian is not among the finalists for the state's education commissioner. Executive Director Wilson Sears says an outsider faces a steep learning curve.
"We have lots of issues right now in the state of Kentucky with budget deficits, a new assessment system. We think we had some very capable, competent, actually outstanding superintendents that applied for this job."
Murray, KY – Murray-Calloway County Hospital is adding a helipad to their grounds. The hospital says it plans to build a new 50 square-foot landing pad for medical helicopters. It will be located just outside of its new Emergency Department when the expansion is complete in January. Currently, helicopters transporting patients land in the parking lot of Murray State University's Football Stadium. The new addition will cut out transport via ambulance to and from MSU for the 50-or-so patients transported each year.
