Body Near Kentucky Dam Identified

Gilbertsville, KY – The Marshall County Sheriff's Department has found the body of a Gilbertsville man who went missing in October. Detective Sergeant Matt Hilbrecht says a body found in a wooded area near Kentucky Dam is 46-year-old Alan Hinton. Hilbrecht says family reported Hinton missing after he wandered away from home. The body has been sent to Madisonville for an autopsy and toxicology reports. Hilbrecht says right now investigators aren't looking at any foul play.

Eastern Snow Storm

Frankfort, KY – Kentucky National Guard authorities say more than 80,000 Eastern Kentucky homes have gone without power for a second day after a heavy December snowstorm. Officials say some customers may have to wait days for the power to return but crews are rushing to repair the damage.

Paducah Settles Executive Inn Liens

Paducah, KY – The city of Paducah has settled nine liens on the Executive Inn for about half their face value, bringing it closer to finalizing its purchase of the hotel. Commissioners approved paying nearly $186,000 in the settlement. Officials are expected to wrap up the deal Wednesday, as they sign documents transferring ownership. The Paducah Sun reports the city has clear plans to demolish the hotel, and is expected to begin soliciting bids next month for a company to liquidate the property's furnishings and equipment.
