Paducah Renaissance Director Resigns: 3rd PRA Employee to Leave This Year

Paducah Renaissance Alliance Director Lisa Thompson is stepping down from her position after less than two years on the job.

Thompson informed City Manager Jeff Pederson of her decision Tuesday.

Thompson’s resignation is effective immediately and follows the office losing its marketing specialist several weeks ago.

Paducah Public Information Officer Pam Spencer says the executive assistant, and only PRA employee left, will leave in mid-June for another job.

Paducah Downtown Farmers’ Market Gets a Bit Smaller

Paducah Downtown Farmers’ Market patrons can expect fewer vendors this summer.

Paducah Renaissance Alliance Executive Director Lisa Thompson told city commissioners Tuesday only 10 to 15 farmers have registered for booths due to a liability insurance requirement for vendors. The market attracted more than 20 vendors in previous years.

Paducah Renaissance Alliance Wants to Expand Board

The Paducah Renaissance Alliance wants to expand its advisory board from nine to 15 members. Executive Director Lisa Thompson and Chairperson Darlene Mazzone lobbied for the increase at the Paducah City Commission meeting Tuesday, saying the move would bring more diversity to the board. Commissioner Sandra Wilson agreed.

“The PRA board would have more people to give them ideas, more people to submit suggestions about what could be done, so I think it’s a great idea to expand it,” Wilson said.

The Paducah Renaissance Alliance is unveiling the new face of its nonprofit partner at Paducah’s Barbecue on the River next weekend. The Columbia Club will work to preserve and restore historic sites in Paducah. Paducah Renaissance Alliance director Lisa Thompson says the club’s first project will focus on the historic Columbia Theater. Thompson says Information about The Columbia Club will be available at the Quilt Museum booth next weekend.
