For all members of the Murray and Calloway County Community:
The Calloway County Public Library is pleased to partner with the Murray State University Pre-Health Professionals organization to host a Calloway Community Health Day.
This free event will take place on March 28th from 10:00am-12:00pm at the Calloway County Public Library.
Pre-Health Professionals is a student organization led by a faculty advisor that seeks to educate
and encourage students on their journeys to medical school, dental school, and beyond. Our
passion for all things health and helping others has inspired us to give back to the community
we have grown to love during our time at Murray State.
The goal of this event is to educate anyone in the community about all kinds of health - primary
care, dental care, mental health, financial health, insurance, cancer, health screenings,
substance abuse, disabilities, nutrition, food assistance, and more! We know there is much
more to health than annual check-ups. We want to create a place for our community to learn
what resources are available to support their health in all ways.
This event is completely free to attend. In addition to educational materials, attendees will have
the opportunity to connect directly with local organizations and learn how to access available
services.
The following organizations will be there to educate the community on their services and
programs:
- American Red Cross
- Calloway County Health Department
- Coalition for the Calloway County Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention
- Kentucky Cancer Program
- Kynect
- LOTUS - Children’s Advocacy Center
- Murray Calloway County Hospital Cancer Center
- Murray Calloway County Need Line
- Murray State Dental Hygiene
- Wellness Works (free A1C screenings)
- West Kentucky Allied Services Senior Medicare Patrol
- And more!
We are so excited for this event, and we hope you attend!
