State Audits Kentucky Agencies

Frankfort, KY – State audits have been ordered for the Kentucky Association of Counties and the Kentucky League of Cities. State Auditor Crit Luallen says she's alarmed at media reports of alleged profligate spending by top officials at the publicly funded, non-profit agencies.

"We've written a letter to each board chair laying out our legal rationale for our ability and authority to audit these organizations and we clearly believe that they should be held accountable to the public."

Nursing Home Worker Indicted for Taping Nude Video

Dawson Springs, KY – A former nursing assistant at a Dawson Springs nursing home has been indicted for using a cell phone to record video of a naked female. State officials cited Dawson Pointe earlier this year for improper cell phone use, but did not release details at the time.

The indictment from a Hopkins County grand jury charges 19-year-old Phyllis R. Johnson with video voyeurism and adult abuse.

She was fired from the facility on April 20, the day after she was arrested by Dawson Springs Police.

Ft Campbell Soldiers to Spend July 4 with Obama

Fort Campbell, KY – Some soldiers from Fort Campbell will spend July Fourth with President Barack Obama at the White House.

A Fort Campbell spokesperson says 25 soldiers and family members will join the president Saturday during the White House Salute to the Military.

Members of 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Division Special Troops Battalion and the Warrior Transition Unit will attend the celebration on the South Lawn of the White House.
