Road Closures for BBQ on the River and Old Market Days Festivals

Paducah, KY – To allow for the setup and enjoyment of the Barbeque on the River and Old Market Days Festivals, several roads will be closed in downtown Paducah. Please note that all streets are subject to early closure due to safety reasons as determined by the Paducah Police Department. The schedule of road closures is as follows:

Kentucky I-69 Agreement Approved

Frankfort, KY – Gov. Steve Beshear today announced a milestone accomplishment for Kentucky transportation - federal approval of an agreement by which a 38-mile section of the Wendell H. Ford Western Kentucky Parkway will be designated Interstate 69 this fall.

It is the first segment of what eventually will become an I-69 corridor from Henderson to Fulton, incorporating the Julian Carroll/Purchase Parkway, Edward T. Breathitt Pennyrile Parkway and a portion of I-24 in addition to the Ford/Western Kentucky Parkway.

Christian County man found dead after tractor accident

Murray, KY – A Christian County man is dead after a tractor accident yesterday morning. A motorist discovered 69 year old James Edward Morris around 8 am Monday near his home. Police say Morris was lying next to the road with what appeared to be fatal wounds from a bush hog. Police found his tractor close by in the tree line with the bush hog still attached. Police don't suspect foul play in Morris' death.

Fort Campbell Death: Summers

Murray, KY – The Army reports the 30th casualty from Fort Campbell this year. Kentucky native, and Fort Campbell soldier 27 year-old Sgt. Jeremy R. Summers died July 14 in Afghanistan's Paktika province after enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire. Sgt. Summers of Mount Olivet, Ky., He was assigned to to the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Ky.
