State Statute Allows Weapons on City and County Property

Nov 14, 2012

A change in state statutes means permitted handgun owners can carry their weapons on city and county property. The Tribune-Courier reports Marshall County Judge-Executive broke the news to county commissioners at their fiscal court meeting. Miller says the new law makes it a misdemeanor for local governments to restrict a resident’s right to bear arms on county property.

The Murray State University Board of Regents has approved changes to its on-campus weapons policy. The board made the revision today at its quarterly meeting. The new rule states that while weapons may not be carried on campus, they may be kept locked inside vehicles.
