Ryan Champion pleaded not guilty yesterday in Trigg County court to 4 counts of murder and 1 count of kidnapping victim death in the killing of his family and a fourth person October 26th.

Kentucky State Police Detectives have charged 36-year-old Ryan Champion with the deaths of his mother, father, and sister. He is also being criminally charged with the death of Vito Riservato. State Police has been actively investigating the murders of Joy Champion, Lindsey Champion, Emily Champion and Vito Riservato since they were found at the Champion's residence in Cadiz on October 26th. Since that time, investigators have been gathering evidence and speaking to a number of people culminating enough probable cause for an arrest warrant.

Police are using 3D diagrams from a laser scanner in their investigation of the Champion family deaths Sunday.

Residents of Trigg County are coping with a tragic loss in the aftermath of a shooting that left three members of the Champion family dead.

Third Update:  A number of media outlets are reporting that the deaths were a result of a murder suicide plot.  This scenario has never been reported by the Kentucky State Police.  

Second Update:  The Kentucky State Police are still processing the crime scene in Trigg County.  The last body in the residence has been identified as Vito Y. Riservato, 22 of Hopkinsville, KY.

It's all about testing, cooking and eating ham in Cadiz this weekend. The Trigg County Ham Festival also features a carnival and petting zoo for kids, Janice Mason Art Museum's Quilt Show, country music concerts, and non-profits raising money for their activities. A couple of farmers settle a dispute over a property line with a shoot out on main street in Cadiz. A young man decides to host a fish fry, using dynamite to catch the fish. A Trigg County man moves to Florida to run mail up and down the beach until he disappeared one day... the rumor goes he was eaten by an alligator. These are just some of the historical accounts of "Dining with the Dearly Departed" a now sold-out event by Southern Kentucky Independent Theatre Group in Cadiz this weekend. The Trigg County Hospital Corporation Board has approved an additional 10 percent funding request to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development program for its hospital expansion project.
