Trigg County Civil War Days at Lake Barkley State resort Park

Gary Polete joins us from the grounds of Lake Barkley State Resort Park where Trigg County Civil War Days are underway through Sunday. Highlights include artillery night fire at dark tonight and Saturday, a ladies tea under the camp tent at 11 Saturday, a Blue and Gray Camp Ball from 8 to 10 p.m. Saturday, and a re-enacted battle with cavalry and artillery at 1 p.m. Saturday, 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Organizer Polete expects about 300 re-enactors in full costume unless cold weather deters.

Lane Restriction on Little River Bridge

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is restricting traffic to one lane on the Kentucky 274/Rockcastle Road Little River Bridge starting Friday. The restriction is to allow workers to clean and paint the bridge. An automated signal will control one-lane traffic as work starts over the weekend.

Cadiz Names New Police Chief

The Cadiz City Council appointed Sgt. Chad Grace as the city's police chief this week. City Clerk Lisa Rogers says Grace was sworn in Tuesday. Grace fills the open position left by new Trigg County Judge Executive Hollis Alexander. The Governor appointed Alexander to fill the open seat left by now 1st District State Sen. Stan Humphries.

Prosecutor Seeks Murder Case Info From Trigg Co. Sheriff

A Kentucky sheriff offering his own reward money in hopes of solving three murder cases is being asked to turn over his information in one of the slayings. Commonwealth's Attorney G.L. Ovey has filed a motion asking Trigg County Sheriff Ray Burnam to appear in court Wednesday with his file on the Chantell Humphries murder case. Humphries' body was found on a Trigg County cattle farm a decade ago. A trial earlier this year ended in a mistrial.
