A man accused of attacking students with a machete at a university coffee shop in central Kentucky has pleaded not guilty to five criminal charges.

Transylvania University's new president comes to Kentucky from New England, but not Harvard.  Dr. Seamus Carey will lead the Lexington private school. He is currently the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut.

Former Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson is a finalist to be Transylvania University’s next President.

After losing the U.S. Senate Republican primary to Rand Paul, Grayson left the Secretary of State’s office to be the director of the Harvard Institute of Politics. He’s held the post since 2011.

Faculty leaders at Lexington’s Transylvania University are calling for the resignation of President Owen Williams in a 35-page document sent to the school's trustees and regents.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports three faculty leaders mailed the document this week on behalf of colleagues. The document accuses Williams of displaying a "dismissive and disrespectful" manner toward faculty, staff and students.
