Rep. Yonts Meets With TVA Officials, Will Continue Inquiry Into Board Transparency

 A Kentucky state legislator says he’s continuing his inquiry into Tennessee Valley Authority board meeting procedures a month after requesting documents from the company.

State Representative Brent Yonts (D-Greenville) attended a TVA board meeting in November where members voted to shutter some generating units at the Paradise Steam Plant in Muhlenberg County.

Edelen Outraged Over Excessive School Spending

Kentucky State Auditor Adam Edelen has found a lack of accountability and transparency in 14 school districts that have been the focus of special reviews.

Edelen told the Interim Joint Committee on Education yesterday that in one case a former superintendent was found to have received $224,000 in unauthorized payments in a district where 90% of students are so poor they qualify for free or reduced-price lunches.
