Murray State Town and Gown Community Band Concert on the Quad, via Facebook

The Town & Gown Community Band Concert includes 85 members of the regional community: adults, university and high school students. The group meets for three rehearsals before presenting the concert. Dr. Todd Hill of Murray State University's Music Department and Carol Brunn from MSU's Town & Gown stop by Sounds Good to preview tonight's (June 7) concert at 7 p.m. on the quad in front of Lovett Auditorium.

Murray's Town & Gown Community Band and Chorus perform their 4th annual Freedom Fest concert Saturday night at 8 in Murray State University's Lovett Auditorium. Maestro Todd Hill says the free concert features a wide variety of patriot tunes and deep music from a community of performers diverse in age. He joins Mark Welch and Tracy Ross on Sounds Good with an overview of the music and other Freedom Fest events in Murray, and says the performance will be done in time for the fireworks.

Town and Gown Community Band Concert director Maestro Todd Hill joins Kate Lochte on Sounds Good with a preview of the program on the Murray State University quad lawn Tuesday (June 9) at 7 (inside Lovett if raining). Dr. Hill says the band of over 100 performers ranges across ages and local communities. The show is emceed by Pete Lancaster and features a special appearance by MSU President Bob Davies.

The Murray State University Town and Gown Community Band celebrates Independence Day weekend with a concert Saturday night at 8 in Lovett Auditorium on the MSU campus. The concert is free and open to the public. The community band is a partnership between the university and the community, welcoming musicians of all ages to play together. The Murray State Town & Gown Community Band kicks off its third season. The band includes between 90 to 100 members ranging in age from high school to college students to regional adults, college students. Registration is open to community members and can get more information by contacting Todd Hill. Todd Hill stops by Sounds Good with the details and some music performed by last year's band.
