The Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge near Paris, Tennessee, has opened a new visitors center. The 12,000 square foot center features day-long activities this Saturday for its grand opening. Joan Stevens joins Kate Lochte on Sounds Good to talk about children's activities and describes the things you'll see while standing out on their scenic veranda overlooking Kentucky Lake.

Chris Kerlick returns to Sounds Good to preview Samfest V, the annual memorial/charity concert for late local musician Sammie Crutcher this Saturday (May 24). It's a day of fun, food and music located at the Hidden Acres Campground. Sammie's daughter Kayla Crutcher makes an appearance this year as a special performer. This family event features music in the styles of bluegrass, country and rock & roll. Proceeds from this year's Samfest goes to the American Heart Association.

Waterfowl hunters of the West Sandy Wildlife Management Area near Springville, Tennessee will have to hunt somewhere else for the next few seasons. The Tennessee Valley Authority has flooded the land since the 1970's to allow for waterfowl hunting, but spokesman Bill Sitton says they’re leaving the area dry during this upcoming fall to repair the pump house for the bottoms.
