Five west Kentucky Lawmakers spent Saturday discussing the progress of Kentucky’s 2014 legislative session which is at its halfway point. Representatives Lynn Bechler (R-Marion), Gerald Watkins (D-Paducah), Will Coursey (D-Symsonia), Richard Heath (R-Mayfield) and Steven Rudy (R-West Paducah) gave updates and took questions.

Dr. Constantine Curris speaks at this semester’s final installment of Murray State University’s seminar series, “Adventures: Life and Its Experiences” about events that shaped his life in his early twenties.

The series allows students, faculty, alumni and the community to interact with speakers who have a wealth of academic and entrepreneurial experiences. Speakers will discuss their experiences related to their successes and their challenges.

Japanese Consul-General Motohiko Kato says his government plans to reinvigorate the economy while improving relations with neighboring countries.

Kato led a lecture and discussion on Murray State’s campus yesterday.

Susan and Morgan Guess presented "A Plan for Kentucky and What Kids Can Do," during the Murray Human Rights Commission's Bullying Conference on April 6, 2013 in the Barkley Room of the Curris Center at Murray State University. Here is the the audio of their nearly hour long discussion of what the Guess family has done to bring attention to the issue of bullying since Morgan's experience.

Frank X Walker reflects on the human condition in imagining historical characters’ voices from a black perspective. Walker is associate professor, Department of English, Co-Chair, Africana Studies at the University of Kentucky. He visits Murray State for a presentation of his works Thursday, November 1 for the Creative Writing Reading Series.
