Eggner’s Ferry Bridge Repair Update

Engineers working to repair the Eggner’s Ferry Bridge over Kentucky Lake are optimistic they will be able to move a 322 foot replacement truss to the bridge site by Saturday.

Bridge Span Will Make Trip Up River In Coming Days

Engineers are optimistic they will be able to load and move the replacement span of the Eggners Ferry Bridge  by barge on Friday or Saturday, but contractors note there are still plenty of details to work through.

Fort Campbell Soldier Sentenced to Life

A Fort Campbell soldier has been sentenced to life without parole in the deaths of his estranged wife and former mother-in-law. Brent Burke was charged in the 2007 slayings of Tracy Burke and Karen Comer. He had four mistrials in civilian court in Hardin County leading charges to be dismissed.

Hamburger Hill Veterans Returning to Fort Campbell

Dozens of Vietnam era military veterans are at Fort Campbell today to commemorate the 43rd anniversary of the Battle of Hamburger Hill. The battle took place in May 1969, involving the 3rd Brigade of the 101st Airborne Division. After one of the bloodiest confrontations of the Vietnam War, U.S. and South Vietnamese forces captured the mountain that the Americans referred to as "Hamburger Hill."
