The four finalists who presented their work were Barbara Cobb, Angie Hatton, Rachel Lundberg, and Summer Warner. The crowd voted Barbara Cobb winner with her post-apocalyptic story "Not Up."

Congratulations to all who entered stories and to the final four writers. Below you can read all four stories, including the winning story, "Not Up."

It’s the end of the world...tell us a story about it!

Pull out your computer and dust off your typewriters - it's time for the WKMS Short Storytelling Competition!

Entrants submit a written short story accompanied by an audio recording. The story length should be between four to six minutes.

This year’s theme is post-apocalyptic fiction in connection to Hopkinsville’s Big Read book, Station Eleven. Romance, comedy, horror, it's all possible - as long as it's set in a post-apocalyptic setting.
