Samfest Annual Benefit Concert Moves to Calloway County, This Weekend

Regional musician Sam Crutcher passed away in December 2009, since then his family and friends came together to create a music festival in his honor called Samfest. The 6th annual Samfest is this weekend at the Calloway County Fairgrounds and features live music by Nightfish, Big Atomic, Quailbones, The Drunken Poets and others, with local arts and food vendors, too. Chris Kerlick and Kayla Crutcher stop by Sounds Good to speak with Tracy Ross about the event and the proceeds going to the American Heart Association.

Samfest V Preview: A Memorial/Charity Concert for Local Musician Sammie Crutcher

Chris Kerlick returns to Sounds Good to preview Samfest V, the annual memorial/charity concert for late local musician Sammie Crutcher this Saturday (May 24). It's a day of fun, food and music located at the Hidden Acres Campground. Sammie's daughter Kayla Crutcher makes an appearance this year as a special performer. This family event features music in the styles of bluegrass, country and rock & roll. Proceeds from this year's Samfest goes to the American Heart Association.
