The 30th anniversary American Quilter’s Society Quilt Show and Contest Best of Show goes to Ted Storm, a quilter from the Netherlands.  Meredith Schroeder, President of the American Quilter’s Society, was  complimentary of Storm's work.

Organizers Unpacking for Paducah Quilt Week

More than 10,000 quilts have been displayed in Paducah and more than $2.5 million in cash prizes have been awarded during the American Quilter's Society's shows that are in their third decade in 2014. The Paducah McCracken County Convention and Expo Center is the epicenter of the AQS Quilt Week activities that start with an awards preview next Tuesday (April 22) then show opening Wednesday, continuing through Saturday. American Quilter's Society co-founder Meredith Schroeder is at the Expo Center helping to unpack quilts for judging over the weekend and Kate Lochte speaks with her on Sounds Good.

Opening Day at the AQS Quilt Show & Contest in Paducah

This week, an estimated 30,000 quilters descend on Paducah for the American Quilters Society’s Quilt Week. Many of these quilters are women, but a new voice in quilting, steadily grows stronger as decades pass and as gender roles become more fluid.
