Five Tons of Fish and Fun at the 60th Annual World's Biggest Fish Fry

The Grand Parade was at 10 this morning, the Arts & Crafts Show is now open and the Fish Building, too, at the Henry County Fairgrounds. This is the finale weekend of The World's Biggest Fish Fry in Paris, Tennessee. It's a longstanding tradition involving events that started months ago, culminating this week. The General Manager of the Fish Fry tells us all about it with Kate Lochte.

Dan Knowles and his Hot Band Play Lee Academy for the Arts Benefit

Paris, Tennessee's Lee Academy for the Arts hosts a concert with Dan Knowles and his Hot Band Saturday, February 23 at 7 p.m. as a fundraiser for the academy, especially for the new ceramics program. Dan Knowles and Academy supporter Ray Hardy stopped by the studio today during Sounds Good to speak about the event and play some music.

A fire has destroyed a former antique mall near downtown Paris.  The blaze broke out shortly after 6 p.m. yesterday on north Market Street.

"Our Town" at The Krider Performing Arts Center

Thorton Wilder’s play Our Town examines typical American life in the early 1900s. Set in the “Anytown, USA” of Grover’s Corner, New Hampshire, Our Town divides the characters’ lives up into three acts marked by major life events, emphasizing the eternal beauty of mundane everyday events. For their inaugural production, The Paris Players are presenting this classic today at The Krider Performing Arts Center in Paris, and Rose Krzton-Presson sat down to talk about it with Paris-Henry County Arts Council Director Mike Murphy, who produced the show and plays the character of George Gibbs.

Henry County Fair Association Appoints New Director

Henry County Fair Association has appointed its first executive director. Larry Ray previously served as the Paris Henry County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director. A volunteer board previously governed the fair association. Ray will primarily manage the Henry County Fair Grounds.  Ray's first task in his new position is promoting and marketing facilities for the World’s Biggest Fish Fry which kicks off April 21st.
