Update February 8: Conversation on Sounds Good added  

West Kentucky Community and Technical College announced Thursday the name of the main gallery in Paducah School of Art and Design's new 2D and Graphic Design Building. The recognition goes to Paducah artist and interior designer Bill Ford.

The Paducah School of Art and Design host a photo contest based on Ron Rash's book Saints at the River as part of WKCTC's annual community read event. Work is also nearly complete on the third phase of their campus expansion. The One Book, One Campus, One Community Read project at West Kentucky Community and Technical College has inspired a community-wide art contest centered around the book Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline, an historical novel staged between 1850-1930 and the effort to bring orphan children by train from northern cities to America's heartland. On Sounds Good, Kate Lochte speaks with Paducah School of Art and Design Dean Paul Aho about how to enter the contest.

The Paducah School of Art and Design is partnering with the Paducah Power System to add a more visual element to the annual holiday display at Noble Park. PSAD Dean Paul Aho stopped by WKMS for a Sounds Good interview to explain the project.

West Kentucky Community and Technical College President Dr. Barbara Veazey says plans to renovate the Kitchens Building to accommodate the expansion of the Paducah School of Art and Design has been years in the making. On Friday, WKCTC received a $400,000 donation from Paducah's Carson-Myre Charitable Foundation to finish Phase 3 of the Paducah School of Art and Design campus project. Paul Aho, Dean of PSAD, speaks with Kate Lochte about the renovations to the Kitchens Building and the multitude of programs that will be housed in the new building upon completion, including a recent "surprise" addition.

The Carson-Myre Charitable Foundation has donated $400,000  toward the expansion of the Paducah School of Art and Design in Paducah’s Lower Town.  The gift allowed West Kentucky Community and Technical College to reach its $2.5 million goal.

Students at West Kentucky Community and Technical College will see an increase in their college bills next semester.

Vice President of Business Affairs Susan Graves says the college will see a 2 percent tuition increase, raising cost per credit hour from $144 to $147 to cover general operating costs.

Gov. Steve Beshear’s line item veto on the state’s budget assures West Kentucky Community and Technical College can use bonding to fund the project.
