Best of Show at the AQS Show Goes to Veteran Quilter from the Netherlands

The 30th anniversary American Quilter’s Society Quilt Show and Contest Best of Show goes to Ted Storm, a quilter from the Netherlands.  Meredith Schroeder, President of the American Quilter’s Society, was  complimentary of Storm's work.

Organizers Unpacking for Paducah Quilt Week

More than 10,000 quilts have been displayed in Paducah and more than $2.5 million in cash prizes have been awarded during the American Quilter's Society's shows that are in their third decade in 2014. The Paducah McCracken County Convention and Expo Center is the epicenter of the AQS Quilt Week activities that start with an awards preview next Tuesday (April 22) then show opening Wednesday, continuing through Saturday. American Quilter's Society co-founder Meredith Schroeder is at the Expo Center helping to unpack quilts for judging over the weekend and Kate Lochte speaks with her on Sounds Good.

One Of Nation's Most Valuable Quilts On Display At Paducah's Quilt Show

Many Quilt Week attendees are crowding Paducah's National Quilt Museum to see one of the nation’s most valuable quilts. The piece, called “Innocence”, was made by quilter Hollis Chatelain. Museum Director Frank Bennett said his museum is lucky to showcase the piece.
