Moonlight Bike Ride, Facebook

The 2nd Annual Moonlight Bike Ride benefits Paducah Cooperative Ministry this Saturday, where hundreds of participants will adorn their bikes with glow sticks and take a 10-mile ride through Paducah. A Paducah Cooperative Ministry project is underway to provide housing to homeless women and children. A village consisting of six units is expected to open this Fall.

Paducah Cooperative Ministry has begun construction on their new homeless shelter on North 12th Street in Paducah.

The new shelter will have six housing units and an administrative building.

The McCracken County Fiscal Court is considering a $50,000 grant for Paducah Cooperative Ministry to build a shelter for women.

Paducah Cooperative Ministry executive director Heidi Suhrheinrich told the court changes to Housing and Urban Development regulations will end a 24-year partnership with the Paducah Housing Authority.

On Sounds Good, Kate Lochte spoke with Suzanne Clinton, an Americorps/Build Corps Member, Paducah Cooperative Ministry. She's involved with October's Five Tons of Love Drive to collect 10,000 pounds of food for the Emergency Food Pantry at the Ministry, which includes a Trick or Treat for Food program.
