The Kentucky Chamber of Commerce is among more than 160 business organizations from 40 different states that have filed a court document in support of a lawsuit against the Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Power Plan. That plan is aimed at reducing carbon pollution from power plants.

McCracken County Judge/Executive Bob Leeper is promoting his work to trim the county budget. In the annual state of the county address today Leeper noted a recent communications audit has shown that the county can save $30,000 annually by cutting unused fax and phone lines.

  An official with the company tasked with clean-up at the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant site says Fluor Federal Services is bringing years of experience in the nuclear field to the Paducah community.

Thomas D’Agostino is Fluor’s senior vice president of strategic planning and development. He spoke Thursday morning at the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce’s Power in Partnership Breakfast.

Pressure is mounting for Paducah Power System Board chairman Ray McLennan to step down due to disappointment with high power rates and alleged inappropriate comments made from a Facebook account in his name. 

Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce President Sandra Wilson says the comments are surprising and disturbing.

In response to recent Paducah Power price spikes, the Paducah Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors sent a letter asking the general manager to explore alternative electricity sources to keep rates competitive.

Paducah City Commission

The Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce has selected Sandra Wilson to serve as its new president.

Wilson is a city commissioner and has most recently worked as the public affairs officer for the NewPage paper mill in Wickliffe. Wilson succeeds Elaine Spaulding, who stepped down in March after 13 years as the Chamber of Commerce's president.
