Owensboro Health has named its next President and CEO.

Greg Strahan has been promoted after serving in the roles on an interim basis since mid-April. He previously helped oversee construction of the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital as the system’s chief operating officer.

The Owensboro Health System is planning to open a rural primary care and specialty clinic in Muhlenberg County this spring.  

The non-profit health system announced plans today to construct an 8,000-sq. ft .clinic at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.  


  Three Owensboro-based institutions are combining efforts to build a new state-of-the-art track and field facility.

Kentucky Wesleyan College, Owensboro Public Schools, and Owensboro Health announced Tuesday  that they will collaborate on the new facility, which will be located between the north and south campuses of Owensboro Middle School.

As small, rural hospitals continue to adapt to changes and challenges from the Affordable Care Act, Muhlenberg Community Hospital is joining the larger Owensboro Health system.

Three West Kentucky Hospitals have named new CEO's this week.

William Brown will lead Baptist Health Paducah, Michael Baumgartner will lead Baptist Health Madisonville and Phillip Patterson will head the Owensboro Health Hospital.  Brown will also assume the newly created title of West Regional Executive to oversee operations of both the Paducah and Madisonville Baptist health campuses.
