Northern Kentucky University has a new president. On Thursday, the university named Dr. Ashish Vaidya as the sixth president of NKU. He assumes the position on July 1, 2018.

Health researchers from universities around the region will gather Friday to discuss how their work can address the opioid epidemic. As Aaron Payne reports, the meeting marks the launch of an ambitious research consortium to better understand and treat addiction.

Gerard St. Amand has been chosen to serve as interim president for Northern Kentucky University. 


Northern Kentucky University is in the final stages of a potential sale of its public radio station. The school’s board of regents has voted to authorize negotiations with a religious broadcaster. The would-be buyers are for two of its three non-commercial frequencies.

Kentucky's public institutions are bucking a national trend when it comes to university enrollment.

A Campbell County judge has given Former Northern Kentucky University athletic director Scott Eaton the maximum 10-year sentence he agreed to, for stealing more than $311,000 from the university. 


Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway says the punishment fits the crime in the case of former Northern Kentucky University athletic director Scott Eaton.  Conway says Eaton pleaded guilty today  in Campbell County Circuit Court to stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from NKU.
