Music at MAC

Big events are on the calendar at Maiden Alley Cinema in Paducah. Kicking off 2015, the Music @ MAC series presents roots country duo Jack Grelle and Ryan Koenig with Yellow-Bellied Sapsuckers on Monday, January 12. On Sounds Good, MAC's Executive Director Landee Bryant-Greene gives Kate Lochte an outlook on some of the bands lined up this year,  how the Film Brew Series is being kicked up a notch and her reflections on the screening of the controversial film, The Interview.

Music@MAC Presents Italian Electronic Group JoyCut

"Mesmerizing and conceptual sound based on dilated and biting electro sound." That's how Maiden Alley describes the Italian group JoyCut, playing live at Music@MAC on Wednesday, March 5. SXSW highlights, JoyCut have recently opened and toured with The Editors, Modest Mouse and Arcade Fire. Their United States tour promotes their third album. They come to Paducah as part of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, facilitating international creative partnerships. Kate Lochte speaks with Landee Bryant-Greene of Maiden Alley about the performance and others in the Music@MAC series.

Pokey LaFarge & The South City Three headline the next Music @ MAC, the music performance series at Maiden Alley Cinema in Paducah. Also playing is the Wheelhouse Rousters (Nathan Blake Lynn, Josh Coffey, Eddy Coffey). Performance is Friday, June 28, doors open at 6 and show starts at 7. Tickets are $15. Pokey LaFarge is a musician, songwriter, bandleader, entertaining, innovator, and preservationist. His music combines jazz, ragtime, country blues and western swing. He speaks with Kate Lochte and Tracy Ross on Sounds Good about his music and the upcoming performance.
