Plans for New Fort Campbell Museum Scaled Back

An organization trying to raise money to build a new museum at Fort Campbell says it has scaled back plans for the project.  Fort Campbell Historical Foundation Executive Director Robert Nichols says changes in the design will cut the cost for the Wings of Liberty project in half. Originally, the organization had planned a two-floor, 80,000 square-foot structure at a cost of about $40 million.

When President Obama came out in support of gay marriage, some African-American religious leaders protested. But according to new data, African-Americans are no less supportive or opposed to gay marriage than any other group.

Active Duty Members and Family Get Free Summer Museum Admission

Active duty personnel and their families can attend more than 1,500 museums nationwide for free today. The Blue Star Families Program is a collaborative effort by National Endowment of the Arts, Blue Star Families, and the Department of Defense to give free museum admission to military families during the summer. Executive Director of the River Discovery Center in Paducah says up to five family members can get in free, and the active duty member doesn’t even need to be present.
