Pennyrile Area Development District Selects New Executive Director

Jason Vincent is the new Executive Director of the Pennyrile Area Development District.

Vincent has previously served as the agency’s Assistant Director and Projects Coordinator. Vincent is a Murray State graduate with a bachelor of science in finance degree and a master’s degree of business administration. Princeton Mayor and PADD Chairwoman Gale Cherry said Vincent is extremely dedicated to the region and the board of directors looks forward to working with him in this new capacity.

MSU Faculty Senate to Meet with Presidential Search Firm Representatives

Twelve members of Murray State University’s Faculty Senate will meet with representatives with Witt Kieffer Presidential Search Consultants Tuesday.

The company, which is contracting with Murray State to select new presidential candidates, will be visiting with various campus constituencies this week.

MSU Athletic Director on NCAA Rules Changes

Murray State University’s Athletic Director Allen Ward takes a look at NCAA rules changes and steps he's taken to ensure the university's compliance. He also talks about the new season ahead for Murray State on the field and on the court. It's Coach Chris Hatcher's fourth year, and several players who are key to the football team's success this year. He talks about Coach Steve Prohm's recent recruitment and some returning players and putting together a new team.

Murray State Makes List of Top Employers

Murray State University is one of three Kentucky institutions cited as a top place to work by an industry publication.

The rankings listed on the Chronicle of Higher Education's website also include Frontier Nursing University in Leslie County and Somerset Community College.

MSU Presidential Search Committee Selects National Search Firm Witt/Kieffer

Murray State’s Presidential Search Committee unanimously selected national firm Witt/Keiffer to manage the search process for the university’s next president. The committee chose the firm from a list of three preferred firms.

MSU’s Director of Procurement Deanne Toby says the details of Witt/Keiffer’s proposal will be public once the company and the university draft a contract.

Town & Gown is a partnership between the university and the city of Murray, geared towards facilitating the discussion and opporunity for collaborative events, philanthropy, and service. MSU's Presidential Search Committee Plans to Use National Search Firm

Murray State’s Presidential Search Committee plans to hire a search firm to find the university’s next president.  The committee held its first meeting today. Murray State is looking for a president after its Board of Regents voted against extending a new contract to current president, Randy Dunn. Dunn’s contract expires in June 2014, but he is expected to leave in July to take the helm of Youngstown State University in Ohio.

MSU Foundation Director Tim Miller will act as an interim  during the search for a permanent president.

MSU Board of Regents Approves Dr. Tim Miller as Interim President

The MSU Board of Regents approved unanimously this morning the appointment of Dr. Tim Miller as MSU's interim president at  a fiscal year salary of little more than  $266,000.  Miller assumes the post on the resignation date of current President Dr. Randy Dunn.

MSU's Dunn Selected to be Youngstown State's Next President

Murray State President Randy Dunn has been selected to be Youngstown State University's next president. The Youngstown State Board of Trustees authorized board Chair Sudershan Garg and Vice Chair John Jakubek to negotiate and execute an employment contract with Dunn. Garg emphasized that the appointment is not final until contract terms can be reached.
