Murray City Police have confirmed they are investigating the shooting death of 22 year old Lindsey Darnall of Cadiz. Darnall was pronounced dead at Murray Calloway County Hospital. Murray Police Sgt. Scott Svebakken says Darnall was found behind 1300 Payne Street in Murray.  Svebakken says police are still investigating the death, but they are not looking actively looking for a shooter. Updates will be provided when received.

Murray State's Music Department and a pair of Paducah artists will share a $6,500 Art Meets Activism Grants  from The Kentucky Foundation for Women.

A two person travel team visited Murray Monday as part of the Rand McNally USA Today Best of the Road competition. Murray is nominated for the Friendliest town in the Best Small Town in America contest.

The Murray State Board of Regents meets in quarterly session today.  The regents will get an update on the university’s work towards the Council on Postsecondary Education’s Stronger By Degrees agenda and consider naming proposals for the Regional Business and Innovation Center.

Today on NPR: A study found psychiatric patients waited an average of 11.5 hours in hospital emergency rooms before being treated or released. That's in part because many hospitals have decided it's not economically viable to keep psychiatric wards open.

Murray State University breaks ground for its new Paducah campus today.  MSU President Dr. Randy Dunn and area dignitaries will be on hand for this afternoon’s ceremony at 3:30 at the Barkley Woods property.  

Dedicated listeners and underwriters met the WKMS spring fundraiser goal of $130,000 in community support in early May. WKMS-FM is the listener supported public media service of Murray State University, serving southernmost Illinois, northwestTennessee, and western Kentucky. Individual contributions and matching grants go to the WKMS budget for programming, transmission, and related expenses for the 100,000 watt public service.
