McCracken County School Board Studies Safety Options For New High School

The McCracken County school board says walk through metal detectors are not a feasible safety measure for the community's new high school. Supervising Student Resource Officer Larry Zacheretti researched the option when a when a school board member inquired into the possibility of using the metal detectors. Zacheretti said an efficient metal detector screens 350 people every hour. He said screening 1,800 people every morning is not feasible. But he is confident in the district's safety measures already in place.

The new McCracken County High School has reached deals to sell naming rights to their gymnasium and on-campus field houses.  They’re also seeking sponsors willing to pay up to $200,000 to name the football stadium.

Consolidated High School Seeking Sponsors

A new western Kentucky high school has reached deals to sell the naming rights to the gymnasium and on-campus field houses and is seeking sponsors willing to pay up to $200,000 to name the football stadium.

McCracken County High School —the merger of Heath, Lone Oak and Reidland high schools — wants a company to pay $200,000 spread out over 10 years for the rights to the football stadium.
