This month, voters in Colorado and Washington elected to legalize marijuana in their states. And this week, the superintendent of the Indiana State Police told his state’s lawmakers that he supports legalizing and regulating marijuana.

The traditionally hard-line stance American officials have held against marijuana is relaxing in some places -- but don't expect Kentucky law enforcement to follow along.

A South-central Kentucky man believed to be the leader of a conspiracy to grow more than 1,200  marijuana plants at his home has pleaded guilty this week in federal court in Bowling Green. Seventy-year-old Dallas Norris pleaded guilty to manufacturing and distributing a controlled substance, money laundering and possession of firearms by a felon. Prosecutors say Norris and 10 co-defendants operated a sophisticated marijuana growing operation that was discovered by Kentucky State Police at his Glasgow home last November. A police investigation determined that the operation started in 2008 a

Kentucky State Police arrested 14 Calloway Countians early this morning in a county-wide drug sweep. The arrests followed eight months of investigation into illegal drug trafficking in and around Murray. KSP Troop Jay Thomas says charges included drug trafficking and possession of marijuana, crack cocaine, and meth.

225 Marijuana Plants Eradicated in Trigg Co.

The Kentucky State Police are looking for suspects following a large marijuana plant bust in Trigg County. KSP Public Information Officer Jay Thomas says troopers eradicated 225 marijuana plants in the Rockcastle community. Thomas puts the plant’s street value at $225,000.

A Benton man is in custody following a state police Marijuana Strike Force operation in Marshall County earlier this week.  Troopers observed 49-year-old Ronald Ledbetter attempting to remove marijuana plants from a rural plot and recovered 49 plants with a street value of 49 thousand dollars.  Ledbetter was arrested and charged with marijuana cultivation and possession, along with tampering with physical evidence.  Ledbetter is being held in the Marshall County Jail.   KSP Post 1 spokesman Trooper Jay Thomas reports an investigation is ongoing.
