LRC to Swtich to Paperless Constituent Messaging System

Constituents across Kentucky should expect an easier time getting their concerns to lawmakers beginning next year, when a new paperless messaging system is scheduled to take effect. 

Marcia Seiler, acting director of the Legislative Research Commission, says she pushed for a switch to a new electronic format for the General Assembly’s constituent messaging service, which traditionally transcribes constituent concerns onto pieces of colored paper known as “green slips.”

She's replacing that system with an instant electronic messaging service that will connect constituents and legislators immediately.

Kentucky Legislature Appoints Marcia Seiler As Acting LRC Director

Top Kentucky lawmakers have appointed an acting director for the Legislative Research Commission as controversy swirls about sexual harassment complaints within the organization.

The lawmakers will also review the agency which serves as a fact finding and service organization for the government. The actions come amid scrutiny of how the LRC handled sexual harassment complaints against a former lawmaker.

House and Senate leaders appointed Marcia  Seiler as acting LRC director. Seiler is director of the Office of Education Accountability.
