Local Leaders To Discuss Economic Impacts Of I-69 Corridor

Community leaders from across the region are invited to attend a planning seminar to discuss the impacts of the coming I-69 corridor.  “I-69: Our Road To The Future” will examine the effects interstates have had on communities and prepare officials from Kentucky, Illinois and Tennessee for future economic growth. Executive Director of the Madisonville-Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce Lee Lingo said the interstate is going to be one of the most significant changes to occur in the Pennyrile region.

Madisonville Leaders On Kentucky Export Initative Outreach

Madisonville-Hopkins County Chamber President Lee Lingo and Madisonville Area Manufacturers Association President Kent Waide of Ruby Concrete join Kate Lochte on Sounds Good. They are collaborating on a Kentucky Export Initiative Outreach Meeting Thursday. The luncheon will help local and regional businesses learn about opportunities and benefits in exporting products. The two organizations partner to bring the event to the Madisonville Economic Development office at 755 Industrial Road, at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday, July 18).

Hopkins County Celebrates Literacy March 4-9

The Hopkins County Literacy Celebration is March 4 through 9th. Schools are getting books written by Lin Oliver and Henry Winkler, as well as Linn Oliver and Theo Baker. Author Lin Oliver visits for a Chamber Hot Topic Lunch and there's a short story contest for students. Kate Lochte speaks with Patricia Wiles, Coordinator of Marketing and Media for Madisonville-Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce, previewing the upcoming event.
