Lovett Live

Western Kentucky based delta/folk band The Savage Radley are the opening act in our upcoming, free Live Lunch After Dark concert at Lovett Auditorium featuring Big Atomic on Tuesday, August 25. They were also the first band to play our Sounds Good Live Lunch series... But you knew that! Here are some things about the band you didn't know.

Murray State University's ROOTS 5 Music Concert comes to the Lovett Auditorium stage on October 7, featuring Grammy-nominated Mark Newton and Steve Thomas headlining with a bluegrass set, along with Jason McKendree on banjo. Also, Nashville-based Chris Scruggs and the Stone Fox 5 with vintage country and western swing, featuring Kenny Vaughan (named best guitarist in the Nashville Scene Music Awards). Ted Belue stops by Sounds Good with a preview.

Sister Sparrow and The Dirty Birds play Murray State's Lovett Live Onstage Concert Series Tuesday, April 24 at 7:30 in Lovett Auditorium. Beyond The Edge host Tracy Ross and Lovett Live host Matt Parker recently spoke with lead singer  Arleigh Kincheloe about growing up in the Catskills Mountains, creating music with nine musicians, and the band's very generous fanbase.

It's only been four years since singer/songwriter Joe Pug quit his day job to focus on music full time.  However, the Maryland native and Austin resident has already garnered comparisons to musicians like REM, Iron & Wine, John Prine, and Bob Dylan.
