The third week of November is Global Entrepreneurship Week and for the second year in Hopkinsville, the Kentucky Innovation Network Office at Murray State University is hosting an Entrepreneur Resource Fair, featuring workshops for those seeking to start a business or help growing an existing business. Loretta Daniel, Director of the regional office stops by Sounds Good to speak with Tracy Ross about the entrepreneurial climate in western Kentucky and the workshops on November 17.

Do you have the next best business plan, or invention? Or, are you looking to invest in the next big business? Well, tomorrow at Murray State the Kentucky Innovation Network and the Kentucky Angel's Investor Network are hosting a pitch competition for some budding entrepreneurs.

Participants will have 10 minutes to present their business idea to potential angel investors, who provide capital for startup companies. Winners will receive cash prizes and the opportunity to present their plans to the entire Kentucky Angel Investors Network (Kentucky Angels) in Frankfort.

Loretta Daniel directs the Innovation and Commercialization Center at Murray State. Seminars in Murray and Hopkinsville this week provide innovators wanting to start small businesses access to federal financial assistance, and it is less complicated than it sounds, because lots of help is provided. She spoke with Kate in the studio during Sounds Good.
