Traffic remains closed along the Tennessee River at the Ledbetter construction site as authorities develop a salvage plan for a sinking construction barge crane. 

Coast Guard officials have restricted traffic along the Tennessee River at Ledbetter as several sinking barges threaten to topple a construction crane into the water.  The barges provide a platform for the crane used in the building of a new bridge at the site.  Work had been shut down at the site for the Memorial Day weekend, and a worker for contractor C.J.

President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign opens its first Kentucky office tomorrow in Louisville with an open house.

A lane restriction begins tomorrow for work on the US 60 Ledbetter Bridge. Crews will work through April 13th to install a deck expansion as part of ongoing repairs to the bridge.  Highway officials say delays will be less than five minutes. Traffic on Interstate 69 will also see lane restrictions in Caldwell County starting Monday April 9.

Contractors for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will restrict travel on the US 60 Tennessee River Bridge at Ledbetter to a single lane this morning. Drivers can expect one-lane traffic with alternating traffic flow from 9 a.m. to about 6 this evening. Travel delays should be minimal. The restriction will allow contractors to deliver concrete as part of ongoing work on one of the bridge piers.
