University of Kentucky men’s basketball coach John Calipari used Twitter Wednesday to announce that every eligible player on the Wildcats squad will submit their names for the NBA Draft.

The annual Battle of the Bluegrass is tomorrow at the KFC Yum Center as the Kentucky Wildcats and Louisville Cardinals square off in men’s college basketball.

Kentucky Championship Coach Coming to Paducah

The National Champion Kentucky Wildcats’ Trophy Tour will make a stop in Paducah on Friday. The visit is part of a state wide trip both by the championship trophy and the Wildcat’s coach, John Calipari. Fans will have the opportunity to take a picture with the trophy during the event at the Park Avenue Kroger between 7:30-8:30pm on Friday.

Lexington police say they’ve arrested several dozen people following the Wildcats' 67-59 win over Kansas in last night’s NCAA championship game.  Fans filled the streets near the university campus within minutes of the game's conclusion. They jumped up and down, screamed, sprayed beer and waved Kentucky flags. Celebrations grew violent as one man was shot, though his injuries were not life-threatening.

Appearing on ESPN’s Sportscenter, Governor Steve Beshear and Lt. Governor Jerry Abramson discussed the upcoming game between the Louisville Cardinals and Kentucky Wildcats in the Final Four of the NCAA tournament.

The excitement over the archrivals playing for a spot in the championship game spilled over into the political arena earlier this week when Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer and Lexington Mayor Jim Gray made a friendly wager over Saturday’s outcome.
